After all that was made of Hank’s recent comments regarding the Yankees, today, via Kat O’Brien at Newsday, we get a little insight into what Hal has to say.
It’s amazing reading his comments (which are, to summarize if you don’t want to follow the link, “stay calm we’ll be fine”) how much Hal seems to “get it.” He just understands the Yankees plan and what they need to do to succeed.
Hank, on the other hand, doesn’t have a clue. If he simply kept up with the Yankee blogs he would better understand what was going on. We’re talking about a man who can converse with Cashman whenever he wants – and he still thinks he can “force” the Yankees to succeed?
So why don’t Hal’s comments make the front page of ESPN? Oh, right, because they are level-headed and positive and don’t fit into the Steinbrenner image that the media loves to portray.
