It’s about time the Yankees got a little luck – and they did with some soft hits in their 4-run 6th. Usually it’s the Yankees who outhit their opponent and lose.
Quality effort by Mussina once again (you can start queuing up those “Moose isn’t finished yet” articles now), which doesn’t surprise me that much; as I’ve said before, he’s been pretty good so far this year. Giving up a couple big hits to Manny Ramirez happens to the best of them.
The bullpen was very strong, as Farnsworth and Albaladejo auditioned for Brian Bruney’s role. As much as I like Bruney, it seems like the Yankees will be able to replace him.
All in all, a .500 road trip for the Yankees that easily could have been a game or two better. They’re above .500 overall and heading home after a tough stretch. Hopefully they’re just beginning to hit their stride.
